Efficient Management of Reverse Logistics Operations
My name is Ike. I am in the first year of my PhD. research programme at Coventry University, United Kingdom with a keen interest in the efficient management of product returns and reverse logistics operations.
Evidence suggests that the overall amount of reverse logistics activity and costs in the global economy is significant and on the rise. There is an increasing recognition of reverse logistics as a component of the total logistics management process that add value, potentially generate revenue, improve customer satisfaction, achieve significant cost savings, and deliver competitive advantage in their different markets.
Against this background there is a need to develop more effective and efficient reverse logistics models and best practices for industries towards business success. Hence, this research project will critically investigate the reverse logistics operations of a number of organizations, with a view to identifying perceived weaknesses, significant gaps and bottle necks. Detailed analysis of these issues will provide innovations that companies expect in order to improve their reverse logistics processes.
I request your valued feedback on this:
At the end of this project, findings made will be presented to all contributors, and published on the Reverse Logistics Association newsletter. Most importantly, names of contributing organizations WILL be kept anonymous.
