Dear LVC Colleagues,

If you are planning to travel to Rome this fall for the LVC meeting, I would like to remind you of an interesting social event that is being organized by Pia and Alba and the local organizing committee.

A Woman Cocktail will be offered on September 11 after the end of the program meeting sessions, at around 7:00 pm. The tentative location of the gathering is the Art Core Gallery, a nice terrace a few minutes walk from the Physics Department. This event will be similar in nature and purpose to the first LSC Women’s Breakfast that took place during the March LVC Meeting in Arcadia in 2011 and was attended by about 30 women, most of whom from the LSC. One important difference with the previous event will be that, following suggestions collected in Arcadia, this time we would like to expand participation to *any* LVC member, without regard to sex. We expect the gathering to be informal and to hear from its participants about issues related to families, women, careers, and anything that may impact the work of women as well as men in the LVC.

In order to decide on the logistics of the event, Pia and Alba would like to have a head count of how many people think they will attend the event. If you plan to participate, please respond below.
