2013 Proposed Garbage & Recycling Program Changes

1. The city currently has a dual sort recycling system where all papers are separated from all containers. A single sort system would allow residents to place papers and containers in a single cart.

Which method of sorting do you prefer?

You can learn more about the sorting methods here: http://www.stlouispark.org/2013-garbage-recycling-changes/2013-garbage-recycling-changes.html
2. If the city switches to single sort recycling, wheeled 60-gallon carts will likely be used instead of the current 18-gallon bins. Many cities that have switched to single-sort carts have also switched to every other week collection. Every other week collection reduces the number of trucks in neighborhoods and is more cost effective than weekly collection.

If you are in favor of single sort recycling, which collection frequency would you prefer?
3. The city plans to provide weekly year-round curbside organics collection (the collection of food waste and organic materials). A wheeled 20-gallon cart is anticipated to be used, but the exact collection method is currently unknown.

Would the addition of a wheeled, 20-gallon cart be difficult for you to accomodate on your property?
