Please select your top candidate for the position of CHAIRMAN of the WUOG Alumni Association executive council. Lynn Harris Medcalf: As chairman, I would like to continue the important work that the Alumni Executive Council began this year in opening up a constructive dialogue with the current station staff and the University about challenges that the station is having, such as frequent sign-offs, especially during break radio. I would like to see the WUOG Alumni Association be in the best position possible to help guide, mentor, promote, and support the current station staff to enhance their on-air broadcast and maintain WUOG’s great legacy in the college radio industry. Through our shared passion for the station, I would also like to foster more opportunities for alumni to reconnect and support each other professionally and personally. My love for WUOG knows no bounds and I would be honored to serve as chairman this year.

Roy Green: Despite the fact that, after my four-plus years at WUOG, I decided not to pursue a career in radio-TV, I've maintained my interest in media and, in particular, the goings-on at the radio station. This interest was heightened a couple of years ago at the alumni/town hall meeting and my reconnection with various other interested persons. I'm very interested in how we as alumni can help the station and its staff maintain its position as one of the premier college radio stations in the country.

Anita Sales: I currently work as an administrator elsewhere in the University System of Georgia and would love the opportunity to extend my contribution to 90.5 to support the Alumni Association. My job skills are substantially improved over my previous administrative work at WUOG after 20 years of working variously as a manager, mom, copy jockey, lousy backup singer, graphic designer and portrait artist, but I'm afraid my turntable skills have dropped considerably - but I still love new music, and I still love the idea of WUOG.

Lee Echols: Lee Echols heads The Echols Group, an Atlanta-based firm specializing in issues managment, crisis communications and media training. His daughter attends the Grady College at UGA, his son is a sophomore at North Atlanta High School, and his fiancee is a producer at CNN.

Michele Minchew: I would welcome the opportunity to serve the board as Treasurer and to do my part to give back to WOUG and to ensure its continued legacy as the best student run radio station in the country. Plus, I'm good at fund raising and will have no qualms asking any of you for your money.

Please select your top choice for the position of MEMBER-AT-LARGE of the WUOG Alumni Association. Cari Gervin: I was a Music and News Staffer and DJ at WUOG from the fall of 2000 through the winter of 2002 (when I dropped out of grad school and UGA completely). I hosted Blank Generation for much of that time. I then interned and worked part-time at WUGA for the next two years. I continue to pursue a career as a public radio reporter and have held jobs at Georgia Public Broadcasting and Mississippi Public Broadcasting.

Jon Milavec: I'm very excited to be nominated for the WUOG Alumni Member-At-Large position. After my first day of college classes in 1992, I walked up those famous five flights ready to work. That day began four of the best years of my life. Like so many alumni, I love WUOG, 90.5fm and want to take part in shaping its future. As Member-At-Large, my focus will be on strengthening the bonds that already exist between alumni and current students. But I also want to foster new relationships. How many alumni would say that WUOG had a major impact on their life? Most who worked there. By continuing to build the network of alumni so that all students going forward know about the power of the association and how to get involved, WUOG can be a lifelong part of people’s lives.

David Moore: David Moore is a native of Atlanta who served the station for three years and wore many hats including music screener, Operations Director, and host of The Folk Scene. Most notably, he created the award-winning weekly sketch comedy show Dead Bulldog Revival. Most recently, he's married with children and still retains a passion and enthusiasm for WUOG.

Erin White: Howdy, y'all! I'm a recent WUOG alum (2003-2007) and wore a bunch of hats at the station during my tenure, from webmaster to GM. As member-at-large of the alumni association, I'd try to help leverage web technologies to spark discussion with folks from each era of WUOG, so that together we can nurture WUOG's unique mission and culture.
