1. Alberta Seniors United Now (SUN) recently participated in, and forwarded their comments and experience overview RE: Alberta Health Services' Health Advisory_Community Consultation to the Health Advisory Council, SUN members, other senior organizations, and various media outlets.

Our comments and summary (of which are summarized below) have gained the interest for additional follow-up - and it is therefore that we are requesting your assistance - by way of responding to the few questions listed below.

2. SUN needs to continue to define their messaging on:
- Universality
- Comprehensiveness
- Accessibility
- Public administration
- Portability
- Family & people-centered health care
- Quality and safety
- Equitable access
- Wellness & public health
- Evidence-based decision making
- and Trust

Do you have an opinion, some suggestions or comments? Please feel free to list them here.

3. For future media consideration (SUN occassionally receives requests to conduct interviews in a variety of different languages or municipalities within the province)... we would ask for your assistance in communicating SUN's opinion, position, summary results, or priorities.

Would you be interested/available to be contacted by the media, on behalf of SUN?

4. If YES (above), please provide your contact information (name, phone number, mailing address and/or email).

5. Do you speak (write/read) another language (fluently) (or enough to be considered for consultation if/when an opportunity is presented)?

6. PUBLIC versus PRIVATELY (for profit) supplied services:

What's the goal?
- contribute to Canada's economy
- contribute to the productivity of Canadian workforce
- consideration of the physical and mental well-being of Canadians?
- competitive advantage for Canadians?

Do any of these speak to your understanding/definition of 'insured' services?

7. What is your definition of 'medically necessary' services?

8. Does it (your definition) (above) align with that of the provincial government's?

9. Does it matter to you at which venue the service is delivered (Public or Private)?

10. SUN will continue to advocate on behalf of seniors across the province of Alberta on the current health and other issues/priorities faced by, and of importance to them; especially in the promotion of active and healthy aging. SUN looks forward to providing you with updates and information along the way.
