Citrus County Farmers Market SURVEY

Buying fresh fruits and vegetables, plants and flowers – all grown locally – while watching a cooking demonstration; does this wet your appetite?

This could be the scene in downtown Inverness, Florida. A recently formed county-wide planning committee met earlier this year to discuss plans to launch a community farmers market. The popularity and availability of farmers markets have grown considerably over the past few years and the impact is noticeable on communities where one exists. Studies show that farmers markets are beneficial for customers, agricultural producers, the community, local economy and the environment.

To set the stage for launching a community farmers market, you are invited to provide recommendations and suggestions.

By purchasing locally/regionally grown produce, do you feel your actions are economically beneficial for Citrus County agri-businesses?
