Endorse Prosperity for All

Dear Colleagues:

The Prosperity for All campaign is working to advance public policies that better serve striving families while strengthening Minnesota's economy. By endorsing the Prosperity for All campaign you or your organization will publicly support commonsense campaigns that promote a prosperous Minnesota in 2014 and beyond.

In 2014, Prosperity for All will advance legislative policies that reduce barriers to Adult Basic Education, job training, higher education, and English Language Learning (ELL). Current welfare-to-work policy limits parents' ability to enroll in training/education programs.

Changing this policy helps meets two major needs for families and Minnesota's economy. First, it will interrupt the cycle of public assistance and low-wage work for parents seeking the education/training necessary for better paying jobs. Second, it will prepare Minnesota for 21st century workforce needs, opening the potential of the largest pool of un-skilled workers in the state: parents on public assistance. By 2018, 70% of Minnesota jobs will require some education beyond high school.

Public endorsements illustrate the broad support for practical changes that help striving families succeed and Minnesota prosper. Thank you for signing on.

Sincerely,

Liz Kuoppala, Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless
Jessica Webster, Legal Services Advocacy Project (LSAP)
