South Fulton District Pinewood Derby Survey -- February 6, 2009

HEY THERE!

If you're accessing this to "sign up" or "volunteer", STOP: call Bert Bender at 404.881.7385 instead.

The South Fulton District, in conjunction with volunteers from all participating Packs, will host a Pinewood Derby for ALL Cub Scouts in the South Fulton District, on Saturday, February 6, 2010 (check in and "Repair Shop" starts at 9AM, check in deadline is at 10:30AM so that racing starts right at 11:00AM), at the Woodward Academy "Middle School" Gym at 1655 Hardin Avenue, College Park. Please let us know your plans for attending the District Derby (so that we can order sufficient patches and awards), and how you (or others) may volunteer.

ALL are Welcome! Boy Scout Troops are encouraged to attend as well, to help Cub Scouts, and show their "Scouting Stuff".

Question Title

3. Will you, and any Cub Scouts with your Unit, join us at the District Pinewood Derby on Saturday, February 6 at Nine AM (Racing Checkin Deadline at 10:30AM)?

Question Title

4. If you will join us, about how many Cub Scouts from your Unit will attend? You can "hedge" your answer, but let us know what your range is. FYI, early Website Responders were: Packs 54 (12 Scouts), 172 (10), 631 (45), 711 (20) and 7250 (35?), so those Packs can confirm or change here.

And since more than one from each Pack might answer, that's OK -- we won't count you twice, and when we respond with updates, we'll copy all from your Pack who responded so we can confirm final numbers -- and then we will "circle back" with you later to get names, so that we can make "check in" easier for all.

5. If you plan to attend the Derby, we need to ask for Volunteer help -- because this just can't happen without people performing various jobs. But if everyone pitches in and helps, it is much more fun for all, even those who are helping! Boy Scout Troops can help out with many of these ideas, but some other ideas for Boy Scout Participation are in the next Question.

So . . . how can you help with the Derby? (Detail on these jobs is in the "Game Plan" that has circulated to you with this Survey Link, and certain jobs, like Commissioner, TrackMaster, Pit Row/Inspections and Scoreboard are already claimed).

6. If you are with a Boy Scout Troop, this can be a great opportunity to help recruit Cub Scouts towards Boy Scout Units. Here are some ways that Boy Scouts can participate in the Derby to help with that -- check if your Troop is interested in any of these.
