Sustainability of Voter Accreditation Technology Survey |
Consent Form
You are invited to participate in a pilot study being conducted for a Degree of the Doctor of Philosophy at Walden University to assess the driving forces in ensuring the sustainability of voter accreditation technology in Nigeria. The researcher is inviting information technology professionals in Nigeria who had designed, implemented, and deployed information technology systems and contributed to decisions in the adoption of new technologies and innovations to be part of the study. This form is part of a process called “implied consent” to allow you to understand the study before deciding whether to take part.
The study is being conducted by a researcher named Lawrence Oluwagbenga Bayode who is a doctoral student at Walden University.
Background Information:
The purpose of this pilot study is to validate the instrument designed for a study to examine the relationship between the driving forces and the sustainability of the voter accreditation technology in Nigeria.
Procedures:
If you agree to be in this study, you will be asked to:
Complete an online survey. The survey has 25 questions and will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete

Voluntary Nature of the Study:
This study is voluntary. You are free to accept or turn down the invitation. No one will treat you differently if you decide not to be in the study. If you decide to be in the study now, you can still change your mind later. You may stop at any time.
Risks and Benefits of Being in the Study:
Being in this type of study involves some risk of minor discomforts that can be encountered in daily life, such as fatigue, stress or becoming upset. Being in this study would not pose risk to your safety or wellbeing. The result of this study may eventually benefit people contemplating the sustainability of voter accreditation technology.
Payment:
There are no incentives for participation offered by the researcher.
Privacy:
Report coming out of this study will not share the identities of individual participants. Details that might identify participants, such as the location of the study, also will not be shared. The researcher will not use your personal information for any purpose outside of this research project. Furthermore, any information you provide will be kept anonymous, which means that nobody will know who participated, not even the researcher. Data will be kept secure by ensuring that the database is well secured and the safe where external data will be store will be well protected. Data will be kept for a period of at least 5 years, as required by the university.
