The main purpose of the survey is to ensure the list of duties and tasks performed by entry level peace officers is comprehensive. The duties and tasks included in this survey have been identified by a panel of Minnesota peace officers.

The steps to properly complete each tasks (a task analysis) will be determined in the next phase of this project and are not listed; for example, handcuffing is not listed because it is a step under Task “Arrest suspect(s)”.

We ask that you please review each duty and answer the question, “Are there additional tasks to add under this duty?” for each one. If you answer yes, list the tasks you believe should be added in the space provided. You may also use this space to comment about items on the list.
