Dear Parents, Your district is working hard to address the issue of school-based bullying through its anti-bullying program "WHSD Takes a Stand." Parent input is important to the success of this program. The Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention has developed this brief and confidential survey to help us learn about bullying at your child’s school. Bullying occurs when a student, or several students, repeatedly: • say mean and hurtful things to another, • exclude or ignore others • hit, kick, push, shove around, or lock another student inside a room; • tell lies or false rumors about others or send mean notes, texts, etc. These things happen repeatedly, and it is difficult for the student being bullied to defend himself or herself. Teasing is also bullying when a student is teased more than just once in a mean and hurtful way. It is not bullying when two students of EQUAL strength or power argue or fight This is a confidential survey. If you have more than one child in the school district, please take the survey once per child.
