WELCOME to the Bear Lake West Amenities Survey for 2010. Your opinion matters, and we are glad you chose to participate. Please complete every question that applies to you. As a result of some seasonal overcrowding of our Beach access, there have been recent discussions considering acquiring additional Highly valued beach access for the exclusive use of BLW members and guests. Our beach area is able to accommodate roughly 50 vehicles with guests. Given the fact we have over 1000 properties included, we could be looking at a reservation only option or other restrictions in the future. Please tell us if you would support acquisition of additional property, and at what expense

38. This is the first of a series of questions about BLW Resort's Restaurant/Bar & Sports Grille. These operations were recently closed for Cleaning & Reorganization. The Amenities Board has determined that the Restaurant/Sports Bar and Patio Grille will be best managed through Private contract in the future. In order to provide the best input to our future partners, Please provide your feedback and overall evaluation of how our members use these amenities, and to determine how best to administer and utilize these facilities. This input should be based on your experiences WHILE THEY WERE OPEN in 2009.

42. During the last year the Restaurant and Bar Operations have failed to attain their budgets for net income. Some of the issues have been failure of personnel to abide by Board policy, cost overruns, and some lack of business in the "down" economy. Board members have determined to 'stop the bleeding", and to close the food service operations while a suitable quality private contractor can be resourced. The goal is to re-open some food service operations as soon as reasonably possible. Please share your best suggestions to improve food services at BLW. PLEASE CHOOSE A MAXIMUM OF THREE SOLUTIONS.

Your Amenities board have been charged by BLW leadership to gather input from our property owners which will be utilized to establish future priorities and funding for the jointly owned resources of everyone. They are also required to provide leadership with a comprehensive 5 year strategic plan during the coming year. This survey is one of the tools that will be utilized to assist in preparing this plan. There are numerous projects being evaluated at this time including systematic replacement of much of the Golf Course Irrigation system which is aging and inadequate. Please help us to know which improvements you see as most important in the next five years.

46. There was a small surplus at year end in the Amenities budget. The Amenities board has determined to refund this surplus to membership and will be reflected in your billing. In the event of future surpluses in Amenities funding, what would your preference be

47. Your Amenities Board are comprised of four appointed members. Two members each are submitted by the POA leadership and the HOA leadership. All have equal voting privileges. This board frequently finds itself evenly divided on issues it is responsible to administer. As a result of the even number of members with equal voting privileges, some matters can become challenging to resolve. Given BLW's amenities substantial size and value, some have suggested that a more efficient structure of this board may include more members. What would you suggest to help your Amenities board function more efficiently?
