Maida Vale Medical Centre would like to set up a Patient Participation Group
Aim of the group
To represent the patients of Maida Vale Medical Centre (MVMC) and work in partnership with GPs and practice staff to improve services for all patients.
Membership
• The PPG will be open to any patient registered with the practice
• PPG members must be committed to represent the interests of all patients to the best of their ability rather than just those of the PPG group
• The PPG will endeavour to have a diverse membership reflecting the diversity of patients registered with the practice
Objectives
• In partnership with the practice, the MVMC PPG will aim to:
• To act as an advisory group providing perspectives and concerns from patients that can influence how services operate
• To advise the practice on how best to communicate with patients
• To support the practice by advising about how to make services accessible and suitable for all.
• To act as a consultative group for any changes at the practice
• To monitor complaints and comments received about the practice
• To assist the practice in developing a patient survey to canvass to views of the patients registered with the practice.
• To review the results of the patient survey and suggest changes as appropriate
• The PPG meetings will be held bimonthly.
Topics to be discussed at PPG meetings will include:
• Supporting the practice staff communicate effectively with patients
• Reviewing feedback given by patients about the practice
• Support the practice to make services accessible and suitable for all.
