The College of Court Reporting would like to know more about you! The student self-evaluation for enrolling in an online program addresses some of the important characteristics and experiences that are required to succeed in an online program. This evaluation must be completed and included in each student's file at the college. Included is a machine shorthand survey which introduces the student to some of the concepts of machine shorthand. This survey allows the instructor to assess whether additional instruction is needed in English and phonics. This survey must be completed and included in each student’s file at the college. 46. As you know, it takes a major commitment to become a court reporter. Successful graduates practiced two to three hours per day, six to seven days a week on skill and speed development alone until graduation. Because of this commitment, they entered a very specialized and important profession. Excellent time management and organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow instruction and directions were also common characteristics of our graduates.
