2010-11 Religious Education Teacher Sign-Up Form

1. Online Teacher/Volunteer Sign-Up

THANK YOU for wanting to teach or help out with RE this year! :-) To assist us with optimal coordination of teaching teams, we ask that you please fill out this form to let us know your preferences as to when, which class, and with whom you would like to teach this year.

New this year: the church school year will be split into trimesters: FALL (Sep 19 - Dec 5), WINTER (Jan 9 - Mar 20), and SPRING (Apr 3 - Jun 5). Each trimester has eight or nine teaching Sundays. Teachers can choose to teach for one, two, or three trimesters instead of having to commit to a full year! This will make it easier for those with schedule limitations (like seasonal sports), newcomers who want to ‘try it out,’ veterans who want to attend more services, and parents who would like to teach in more than one child’s class.

We will be offering a teacher orientation/dessert party at 7pm on Wednesday, Sept. 1st, for incoming teachers and those who would like to get more information before signing up.

As a teacher, how much responsibility are you willing to take on? I am willing to prepare the lessons and lead the class.	I see myself more as an assistant teacher / classroom aide (either because I need a lighter commitment, or because I don’t yet feel confident to lead a lesson).

Please note that according to UUCA's Safe Congregation policy, all teachers will be asked to provide references for background checks. The form is good for a total of three years; for your second and third year, we ask that you sign a brief update half-sheet. Have you filled out the "VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM FOR THE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM" in the past? Yes, in 2009. Yes, in 2008.	No, never. I would like a form to look over and complete. I do not recall.
