The Board of Directors of the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback invites AAPB members to submit nominations for potential candidates to serve on the AAPB Board of Directors. The Nominations Committee will consider all submissions and prepare a slate of candidates based on the information that you provide and other candidate recruitment activities. The Nominations Committee is chaired by the immediate Past President, Dr. Gabriel Tan. He and the committee are pleased to offer this open call for nominations. SELF NOMINATIONS ARE ENCOURAGED!

The Board consists of the President, the President-Elect, the Immediate Past President, the Treasurer and five additional Board members at-large, all of whom are required to be regular members in good standing of the AAPB. Board members at-large and the Treasurer serve no more than two consecutive three-year terms. Candidates for President-Elect are not eligible to hold another elected office during their term as President-Elect. The President-Elect serves one year in this capacity and automatically assumes the role of President the following year, then remains on the Board for an additional year as Immediate Past President.

In 2013, the AAPB membership will elect one President-Elect and one at-Large Board of Directors positions.

Position Descriptions

President-Elect (3-year term):
The President-Elect shall be a member of the Association who is elected by the membership. He/she shall take office as President-Elect at the close of the annual meeting at which his/her election results are announced. He/she shall serve as presiding officer of the Association in the absence of the President. The President-Elect shall become familiar with the presidential duties and shall perform such duties as are delegated by the President and/or Board of Directors. The President-Elect shall act in the President's absence or disability. The President-Elect shall help formulate Association policy, and shall assist the President, upon request. The President-Elect automatically succeeds to the office of President. If the office of President becomes vacant, the President-Elect shall serve as President for the unexpired term and shall serve as President for the term to which he/she was elected. In the event that the President-Elect shall not be able to serve, a President-Elect shall be nominated by the nominating committee and a special election held. The new President-Elect will take office immediately.

At-Large Board Member Position (3-year term):
The at-Large Director shall be any Regular member of the Association in good standing who is elected by the membership. Responsibilities include participation in regularly scheduled Board meetings and/or conference calls and serving as a Board liaison to an AAPB committee, one or more of the AAPB membership sections or divisions and to a state or regional chapter. These are important roles in helping AAPB and all its components to be informed and to ensure active participation from each segment of the organization.
