The Valley Youth Council (VYC), has been an on-going project of the Town of Danville. Made up of high school students from the San Ramon Valley Unified School District and local area private schools, the VYC is charged with finding ways to bridge the gap of communication between the local high school community and decision makers (Town Council and Commissions, Chamber of Commerce, school administration, and Town staff).
In addition to our efforts to communicate the issues and concerns of the local high school students, we strive to create recreational and community service opportunities for that population. During the 2012/13 school year, the VYC will work to create new partnerships with schools, on-campus clubs, and student organizations to see how community partnerships can work to better serve the high school community.
