Thank you for your interest in the 2018 USA Cycling's Jr. Men 15/16 European Race Camp program. This survey serves as a request to be invited to the summer Race Camp.
Camp A is scheduled for 31 July - 20 August 2018 (departing USA Monday, 30 July - arriving in Brussels, Belgium on Tuesday, 31 July)
The purpose of the 15/16 European Race Camps is to create a learning opportunity for highly motivated young riders by exposing them to the subtleties and specific nuances of international competition and life in a foreign country.
The cost for the camp is $1700 and includes travel arrangements, housing at Team USA's European Training Center (Sittard, NED), daily food, use of a Team USA bicycle and some incidental expenses for the duration of the camp. Camp activities will include races in Belgium (two per week), bike handling drills, strategy sessions, general training rides, and cultural activities. Camp participants in the past have included current National Development Program representatives including Nathan Brown, Greg Daniel, Brandon McNulty, Logan Owen, and Lawson Craddock.
Selections will be based on survey responses, athlete Regional Talent ID camp testing results, national and local race results. Favor will be given to athletes that have demonstrated an ability to work and race at a very high level in the United States. With only 5 riders being selected, it is expected that it will be extremely competitive to get into these camps.
Application deadline is 10 June, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. Applications received after this will not be considered.
Camp invitations will be issued 13 June, 2018. Full payment will be due upon receipt of USA Cycling invoice. Flights will be booked and ticketed by USA Cycling at this time.
All selected applicants must have (or be prepared to purchase) a UCI international racing license and have a valid, up-to-date passport. Only U.S. Citizens will be considered for this trip. All applicants must be prepared to pay the full fee amount upon receipt of invoice.
