FARM-BASED SELECTION AND SEED PRODUCTION OF VARIETIES OF BREAD WHEAT, SPELT, EMMER, AND EINKORN ADAPTED TO ORGANIC SYSTEMS IN THE NORTHEAST

This project will provide training in seed production to organic growers in the Northeast who are interested in producing high-quality seed of promising varieties for organic systems, and will start developing varieties adapted to organic agriculture in this region through on-farm selection with experienced organic farmers.

Certified seed production workshops for organic growers will be conducted in the first two years of the project, and technical support will be provided to farmers interested in producing organic seed. Organic seed treatments for the control of 'Tilletia spp.' (common bunt/stinking smut) will also be tested on-farm, as this disease is a major challenge in organic systems.

Your responses to this survey will help us ensure that this project meets your needs as a grain grower in the Northeast. Thank you for taking the time to fill it out!
