Nebraska GIS Stakeholder Survey

Introduction

Welcome to the GIS Stakeholder Survey that is being conducted to support the development of a GIS/Geospatial Strategic Plan for Nebraska.

The information gathered from this survey will help the project team better understand the Nebraska GIS stakeholder community and will help form the development of the Strategic Plan.

The survey contains 35 questions and is designed so that it can be completed in approximately 20 minutes. These questions are divided into the following five sections of the survey:

1. You and your division/organization
2. Use of GIS/geospatial technology in your division/organization
3. How does GIS/geospatial technology help your division/organization?
4. State and Local GIS/Geospatial coordination activities
5. Tell us what you think

The survey attempts to recognize that a diverse array of people may take this survey. Some people will be geospatial practitioners while others will have had much less exposure to the technology. As such, some questions assume a higher degree of familiarity with GIS while others are focused on the business aspects of "mapping" in general. If questions are not relevant to your division/organization, please indicate this by selecting "Not Relevant".

Your answers to the survey questions are your perception and we are assuming it is representative for your division or organization. Please try to answer the survey questions in a manner that provides us with your perception of what represents the stance of the division or organization for which you work. This approach DOES NOT mean that we expect you to initiate an internal agency process to determine your answers.

Thank you for your participation! For additional information regarding this survey contact Nathan.Watermeier@nebraska.gov.
