Collecting Sex Materials for Libraries

Collecting Sex Materials for Libraries

We are conducting a study on how librarians and library staff view the collection of sexually related materials for libraries, whether for education, entertainment, and/or research purposes.

This survey is interested in the PERSONAL views of librarians and library staff regarding the collection of sexually related materials for libraries. No experience, however, of working with sexually related materials is required. Participants, no matter from what type of library, are encouraged to participate in the survey. Expectations are that most participants will be from the United States and the survey was designed accordingly. Nonetheless, non-U.S. participants are encouraged to participate.

The survey will take approximately 25-40 minutes of your time and consists of 49 questions. All of your information will be kept strictly confidential and will be used for research purposes only. Contact information requested following the survey is optional and only for participation in the prize drawings. No personal and/or identifying information will be included in the results of the research. The collection of IP addresses for this survey has been disabled.

The comment fields are optional but we hope provide for you an opportunity, as needed, to explain your answer.

In any of the survey's essay text fields that required an answer, please feel free to use "N/A" as a response should you have a reason for not wanting to respond to that question. Likewise, should at any time once starting the survey you wish to discontinue, please exit the survey by closing the appropriate tab/window in your browser.

Once you complete the survey, you may choose to be entered into a prize drawing for one of four Amazon gift cards at a $25 value.

By consenting to participate through accessing and submitting the survey, you authorize the use of your data to be compiled for research and other related activities, as well as retention in an archive without any personally identifying information as may have been submitted for the prize drawing.
