Each year, 1.4 billion pounds of recoverable textiles, with a potential economic value of $140 million, are disposed of throughout NY State. The New York State Association for Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling (NYSAR3) , a statewide organization of recycling professionals in the public and private sectors, is launching “The Great New York State Clean-Out” in Fall 2014 to remind all New Yorkers how easy and important it is to reuse and/or recycle their unwanted textiles.
