The Wizard of Oz – Little Dorothy Gale of Kansas, like so many girls her age, dreams of what lies over the rainbow. One day a twister hits her farm and carries her away over the rainbow to another world. This stage version uses much of the original music from the Judy Garland classic film that features Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion and Toto as they travel the universe of Dorothy's imagination.
A Christmas Carol – This version of the classic Charles Dickens tale ran for ten years in New York’s famed Madison Square Garden. The brilliant collaborating team included Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid), Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical) and Mike Okrent (Crazy for You, Me and My Girl).
Oklahoma – Rogers & Hammerstein’s first collaboration remains in many ways, their most innovative, having set the standards and established the rules of musical theatre still being followed today. Set in a Western Indian Territory just after the turn of the century, this is the story of Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, forging a life together in a challenging new American territory.
Annie – This popular comic strip heroine comes to life in one of Broadways most endearing and popular musicals. "Annie" is a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan.
The Sound of Music – The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein centers around a beautiful young governess caring for the seven children of a heroic widowed naval Captain. Set on the eve of World War II, the Captain and governess become a couple and find themselves in dire circumstances and find it necessary to flee Austria under the watchful eye of the Nazi party. This score is one of the greatest in musical theatre history featuring “The Sound of Music”, “Climb Every Mountain”, “Do-Re-Mi”.
White Christmas – Based on the beloved, timeless film, this heartwarming adaptation features seventeen Irving Berlin classics, which include “White Christmas”, “Blue Skies” and “How Deep Is the Ocean”. Veteran Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. They travel up to a Vermont lodge following a talented and gorgeous duo of singing sisters to create an unforgettable evening of entertainment in honor of their former army commander who has served his country proudly and has retired from life fearing he has been forgotten.
Singing In The Rain – This terrific stage adaptation of the celebrated and beloved film, takes its audience to Hollywood in the 1920s. The light-hearted romantic comedy plot centers around the early days of sound film, when a movie studio finds it6self scrambling to salvage the career of its chipmunk-voiced silent picture star.
Sweet Charity – With a book by Neil Simon and choreography by Bob Fosse, the film starring Shirley McLain was a solid gold hit. The film then became a stage play that preserved some of Broadway’s classic show tunes such as “Big Spender”, “If My Friends Could See Me Now” and “The Rhythm of Life”.
Chicago – It’s Chicago in the roaring twenties. Chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless boyfriend and then convinces her hapless husband Amos to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess" Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune and acquittal. This sharp edged satire features a dazzling score that sparked immortal staging by Bob Fosse.
Fiddler on the Roof – One of Broadways most infectious musical scores, Fiddler tells the story of Anatevka, Tevye, a poor dairyman, tries to instill in his five daughters the traditions of his tight-knit Jewish community in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia.
