You may have heard about the efforts of the Merion Civic Association to work with the Lower Merion Conservancy to create a historic district in Merion. With the apparently imminent demolition of a very special home at Latches Lane and Raynham Road, the fact that none of this neighborhood’s historic homes enjoy preservation protections becomes a stark reality. Any property in the neighborhood, regardless of historical or architectural importance, could be subject to demolition.
