Nurses' Satisfaction with Mechanical Ventilator Weaning Protocols
1. Informed Consent
NURSE SATISFACTION WITH MECHANICAL WEANING PROTOCOLS
This research study is being conducted to (1)identify the more commonly used mechanical ventilator weaning practices (MVWP) in critical care areas;(2) measure nurse satisfaction with the current MVWP in their work setting; and (3)assess nurse preference for primary MVWP role responsibility.
If you agree to participate, please complete this on-line survey that should take you approximately five minutes.
There are no foreseeable risks for participating in this research.
There are no benefits to you as a participant other than to further research in learning about MVWP, who leads those practices, the satisfaction for current practices, and the RN preference for who leads the MVWP. In addition, the benefits to critical care nurses, physicians, and hospital administrators may be a method to increase job satisfaction for nursing associates.
The data in this study will be confidential. While it is understood that no computer transmission can be perfectly secure, reasonable efforts will be made to protect the confidentiality of your transmission.Participant names or other identifiers will not be placed on surveys or research data.
Your participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw from the study at any time and for any reason. If you decide not to participate or if you withdraw from the study, there is no penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled. There are no costs to you or any other party.
