Woodland plan

1. What it the most important benefit of woodland

 1 / 6
Woodlands provide many benefits to people and society - habitats for plants and animals, the opportunity to learn about nature, and places for retreat and recreation. They also support economic activity, providing timber and other materials; and contribute towards storing carbon and helping to control climate change.

Woodland can be managed to achieve any of these benefits, but sometimes not all of them at the same time. Which are most important to you?

1. Please rate the importance of each item on the list below on a scale of 1-5, where 1 is very important and 5 is not at all important. You may give the same score to more than one item.

 1 (very important)2345 (least important)Not applicable
Biodiversity: creating and maintaining habitat
Production: using woodland for timber and biomass
Education: making woodlands a resource for learning about nature.
Recreation: opening up woodland for walking, cycling and other similar uses
Climate Change: using mature trees as a carbon store, holding rainfall to prevent flooding etc
