Ministers and Music Directors: Peaceful and Productive Coexistence
1. Thanks and Welcome!
In my travels to appear at new-thought churches, I've often been asked what other churches are doing in their services, especially musically. I've also been exposed to various comments by ministers and music directors about what they appreciate, and conversely, what they would like to see more of, from their collaborators.
This July I'll be giving a keynote at the Sound Connections Conference at Unity Village for music directors and ministers. For one part of the keynote, I thought it might be helpful to get a broad base of input from music directors and ministers about what they feel is -- and maybe isn't -- working in their experience, and share that in a general way with the attendees.
To that end, this is a short (anonymous!) 8 question survey to get your input about this. The purpose is to inform each group of the desires, ideas, and successes of their cohorts and counterparts.
My goal is to shed light on strategies and innovations that may be taking place "under the radar," as well as get a feeling of what members of each group can do to contribute to helping their counterpart. The ultimate goal is making the Sunday services even more exciting and enlightening.
Feel free to keep your answers brief, but also to share as much and as honestly as you'd like. Remember, all answers are anonymous!
Injoy!
