SCAA Michigan Chapter Interest Survey
Thank you for your interest in the Michigan Chapter, SCAA!
In order to best serve our community, offer support to those affected by Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and work together to improve outcomes from cardiac arrest, please answer these questions.
Our SCAA Michigan Chapter had a great first organizational meeting on March 28, 2012! We heard several survivor stories and an update on the state of cardiac arrest in Michigan. We also discussed the acute need to recognize the potential for latent survivor challenges, including physical, emotional, and cognitive.
On Tuesday, May 15, 2012, met again and heard about 1) the Emotional Impact of Brain Injury and 2) Cognitive Recovery after Cardiac Arrest. We have had several meetings over the last year with guest presentations and the SW Heart Walk is less than a month away.
We will hold our next meeting on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 7pm at William Beaumont Hospital. We will have a guest to discuss recent legislature in Michigan regarding improving survival from cardiac arrest. We look forward to seeing you there!
For future planning, the Heart Walk is June 8th in Detroit and our next formal meeting will likely not be until September 2013. Interim events/meetings will depend on the demand!
