The Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress is conducting a survey of the needs of people with Down Syndrome and their families in Massachusetts. We are asking family members and people with Down syndrome ages 18 and up to complete this survey by June 2, 2013. Participation in the survey is voluntary. All responses are completely anonymous. There are no right or wrong answers; it's your opinion that matters!

We realize that it might take about 15-20 minutes to complete the attached survey, but it is critical information to help us think about, and plan for, the future. We appreciate your time, value your perspective, and need to understand your experiences in order to maximize and direct our resources, and continue to serve our community with passion and determination.

To show our appreciation, everyone who completes a survey will receive a free one year membership or membership extension to the MDSC ($50 value).

Nearly 28 years ago parents met in a living room to share information about their children, provide support for each other and strategize how to educate their families, schools and communities. Now, in 2013 the MDSC has over 3,000 members, an energetic Board of Directors, a dynamic management team, and a clear mission:

To ensure individuals with Down syndrome in Massachusetts are valued, included, and given the opportunities to pursue fulfilling lives by providing information, networking opportunities, and advocacy for people with Down syndrome and their families, educators, health care professionals, and the community-at-large.

Even with our successes and growth, we understand that Massachusetts still has a long way to go to ensure that every person with Down syndrome in our state has the chance to live a valued, integrated and fulfilled life.

Part of what has made us successful is always thinking about the future, where we are headed and what we want to focus on. Your responses to this survey will give us the information to guide our planning, activities and fundraising for the future. As we look towards the next 5 to 10 years, we want to be as informed as possible about what is affecting you and how we can be most helpful to you.
