Question Title

The Mill Creek Planning Commission is beginning the process to consider amendments to the City's Sign Code. We would value your opinion and appreciate you taking the time to fill out this survey.

Question Title

Currently, there are two separate calculation methods for determining the maximum area for building signs, one used in the Mill Creek Town Center and one used in the rest of the commercial areas of the City. To make the regulations uniform throughout the City, the City Council will be considering proposed amendments that would apply the Town Center regulations citywide.
The citywide regulations currently allow one square foot of sign area for every lineal foot of frontage. The Town Center Sign Code uses a formula based on a percentage of storefront height and lineal frontage. Typically the Town Center regulations allow slightly greater sign area, but not in all situations.

The City Council will be considering potential revisions to the Sign Code to allow taller freestanding signs for commercial properties, which would allow additional area for the display of the center name plus one or more tenants. Currently the Code allows a commercial or business center one freestanding sign, with a maximum height of 4.5 feet, on each arterial street bordering the site. Following are examples of typical monument signs currently allowed under City Code.
