. The Westminster Weekend planning committee is pleased to announce that the Westminster Weekend (formerly known as Family Camp) is planned for July 6-8, 2012! In an effort to appeal to ALL members of the congregation (young, young at heart, families, singles, couples, new members, veteran members, empty nesters, etc. --y'all come!), lodging options include tent camping OR cabins/hotel rooms.
The location options are either Graves Mountain Lodge (1 hour drive) or The Peaks of Otter Lodge (1 hour and 45 min drive).
Graves Mountain:

• Things to do: swimming pool, river/creek to play in, hiking, horseback riding (add’l fee)
• Hilltop and Ridgecrest Motels: 2 queen beds & full bath per room, can hold family of 4-5 in room, has AC, no tv, no phone, has wireless internet for no extra fee ($106.75 was the 2011 rate, per person per day with meals - double occupancy)
• Cabins: different rates because cabins differ in size, all have AC, no tv, no phone (Old Farm House, Blackwood, Greenwood, Peon, Lower Cabin, and Valley View cabins are walking distance to lodge/meals. Some allow pets.)
• Tent camping: no hook ups, potable drinking water, no bathroom (just port-a-potties), primitive.
• All rates for rooms, cabins, and tent camping include meals
Peaks of Otter:

• Things to do: hiking trails, great views, lake fishing. (No swimming in lake, and no pool.)
• Lodge rooms are $132 + tax per night for 2 people: $12 each additional person per night, kids 12 and under are free in room, AC, no tv, no phone, no wireless, offer a limited number of King bed rooms, most are two double bed rooms, roll away beds available (only 3 avail.) and are $10 extra per night; AAA, AARP, and Military families can get 10% off their rooms per night.
• Meals are paid for separately.
• Group would be seated all together in separate area on sun porch overlooking the lake.
• Tent camping: has restrooms, but no showers, has drinking water
