Nomination for GSEM Volunteer Recognitions 2014
Thank you for nominating a fellow Girl Scout Volunteer for a GSUSA or GSEM volunteer recognition. We are truly honored to have such gifted and giving individuals working with us toward our mission of building girls of courage confidence and character who make the world a better place.
Once a candidate’s nomination and endorsement(s) are submitted, the Volunteer Recognition Committee reads through each nomination and endorsement. The Committee then recommends to the GSEM Board of Directors which adult recognition each nominee should receive. After the board has made their decisions on each nomination, our CEO will send a congratulatory letter to the Adult Recognition Awardees along with an invitation to our Volunteer Recognition Dinner on April 10, 2014 at 6:00 PM at the Chelmsford Radisson.
You can help us in this process by being as clear and descriptive as possible. Use numbers and quantifying statements such as, "Gina has built a Service Unit Team of 9 volunteers and has recruited 8 new troop volunteers in her two years as Service Unit Organizer." rather than, "Gina is really nice and all of the new volunteers look to her for help." All of the objective information you can supply on the deserving nature of the nominee is very helpful and can make the difference on which award a nominee may receive.
Thank you for recognizing the valuable work our volunteers do!
All nominations and endorsements must be submitted by the firm deadline of February 3, 2014.
Service Unit level awards may be submitted directly to the service unit for approval and presentation.
Most volunteer recognitions require only one nomination and one endorsement.
The Thanks Badge II requires one nomination and three endorsements.
Volunteers are eligible for council level recognition every three years. For example, if a volunteer was recognized in, or after, 2012 with a council level award he/she is not eligible in 2014 for recognition at the council level.
Sincerely, Volunteer Recognition Committee
