Tourism & Hospitality Post Games Staffing Survey

1. Staffing during the 2010 Olympic Games

By all accounts the 2010 Olympic Games were a resounding success with tens of thousands of visitors and locals alike crowding into the various venues to take in and create the 'Olympic excitement'.

However, the Games were predicted to present some unique staffing challenges:

Demand for temporary workers immediately prior to and during the games was expected to be high.

Transportation restrictions, security issues and accommodations were predicted to have an impact on staffing plans.

Some businesses were expected to make operational changes to account for delivery restrictions or to operate 24/7 or simply to ensure their staff were able to share in the excitement of the Games.

How much of this happened?

This survey will only take a few minutes to complete but will be invaluable in helping us understand the impact the Games had on our industry's staffing situation. The lessons learned will help us develop a legacy that can be passed on to those planning for future events including 2012 in London and 2014 in Sochi.
