1. The school is always looking for better ways to improve the quality of learning.

2. The school improvment plan is developed with participation by administrators, teachers, other professional staff, and parents.

3. The school improvment plan clearly indicates what the school is trying to achieve.

4. The principal communicates a clear vision of the school's goals.

5. The principal is an effective leader for improving classroom instruction.

6. The principal is visible throughout the school campus to both staff and students.

7. The prinicpal encourages parents and community members to be involved in school activities.

8. The principal encourages parents and staff to participate in school decision making councils.

9. The principal involves teachers in ongoing professional development experiences.

10. The school emphasizes student success.

11. Teachers are competent and enthusiastic about their teaching fields.

12. Instructional technology and computers are an integral part of classroom instruction along with a variety of teaching materials.

13. Students are taught to apply basic skills and problem solving skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.

14. Homework is assigned regularly, and students receive feedback promptly.

15. The school provides learning activities to help students with individual needs and different learning styles.

16. Teachers in this school believe that all students can learn and provide instruction to insure a high level of success for all students.

17. Teachers set high, appropriate, and achievable goals for students.

18. Teachers expect all students to complete class work, be on time, and be on task.

19. Students and teachers are recognized for their accomplishments.
