Environmental Protection UK has traditionally supported the work of local authorities and those who work closely with them. We currently have three work programmes – air quality, noise and land quality. Climate change is officially part of our air quality work programme, and we work on climate change issues where they meet our current workstreams - for an example see our recent guidance on biomass combustion and air quality www.environmental-protection.org.uk/biomass.
We are now considering the case for adding a programme to work specifically on climate change, and are seeking the views of both members and non-members on the need for this, and the type of work that a climate change programme would undertake.
