SMT Survey: Number of Tips Needed To Bait Your Writer's Hook

To determine the number of tips you need to hook your readership when writing a blog post:

This survey project is being done in collaboration with Social Media Today by John Cass, Blogger, PR Communications.

3 tips, 7 tips, or 99 – we’ve all seen posts about tips on how to market with Twitter or Facebook, and we know the technique works. People are looking for answers, and want the information in quick easy digestible bites.

I wondered what number of tips will attract the most attention from readers, is it an odd number, an even, less than ten, or, the more the merrier?

To find out how many tips are needed I decided to partner with Social Media Today to ask you what’s your preference and why? Please take this survey and we will post the results, and of course the title of the post will be XXX tips on how many tips you need to write to market your post.

Lastly, the survey features one or two questions where you can write answers, those responses that are good may be featured in the final post, If you would like your response considered to be included in the write up post on Social Media Today, please include your name and URL in your answer.

1. Do you prefer an odd number or even number of tips when someone publishes a post?

2. Do you prefer a small number of tips or the largest number of tips you can think of?

3. Please select your preference for the number of tips you prefer to read in a post.

4. Tell me more about why the number of tips is important when you see the headline.

5. Will the number of tips make it more likely that you will share or bookmark a post, if so how many and why?
