Prostate Cancer Patient Treatment Survey

Dear CyberKnife Patients,

On April 21, 2010 the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has scheduled a Medicare Evidence Development and Coverage Advisory Committee (MEDCAC) meeting to review evidence on the use of radiation therapy for the treatment of localized prostate cancer. One of the potential outcomes from this meeting may include a National Coverage Determination (NCD) eliminating coverage of stereotactic body radiation therapy/CyberKnife and/or other therapies for prostate cancer altogether.

We know that patient opinions are considered critical when CMS decides upon healthcare policy and coverage. The CyberKnife Coalition (www.ckcoalition.org) has set up this survey that allows CyberKnife patients to voice their concerns and to urge CMS to continue providing coverage.
