The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) has designated the Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum (LHCQF) as the entity responsible for guiding Louisiana’s efforts to secure funding and support through the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH Act). The HITECH Act is a portion of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), also known as the stimulus bill, and its purpose is to promote the meaningful use of health information technology (HIT) to improve the quality and value of American health care. Technical assistance and loan programs are available to health care providers on a competitive basis to support and finance HIT acquisitions.
The LHCQF is conducting this survey to gather necessary information to inform all of its activities geared toward the goal of receiving funding and support for providers in Louisiana. This assistance will help providers meet the requirements of the HITECH Act, become eligible to receive incentive payments by becoming meaningful users of HIT, and avoid penalties for not doing so.
Please assist us in this effort. We ask that you take 20 – 30 minutes to complete the survey. For your convenience, we have allowed this survey to be completed online or via US mail. Thanks for taking the time to fill out the online survey.
Someone who is familiar with the characteristics of the health care facility, including the types of patients seen, the services provided, and the technology used in the facility, should complete the survey. In addition to the questions required of all respondents, there are several optional questions about HIT in your facility and your interest in loan programs for funding HIT acquisitions. Please consider answering these optional questions. We appreciate your response.
Thank you,
Cindy Munn
