2012 BU9/GU9 Tryout Registration Form
1. General Information
This is the information and registration form for the LGUSL GU9 and BU9 Competitive team tryouts for the Spring and Fall 2012 seasons.
Please read all information. This form MUST be completed in its entirety on-line in order to participate in tryouts. On-line registration deadline is December 4, 2011 (extended from December 1, 2011)
We pre-register players to help us make sure that we have enough evaluators available to assess all participants. Last minute changes/announcements to the scheduled dates/times noted below will be broadcast to the list of email addresses collected later in the registration form.
LGUSL expects a sufficient number of players to form two (2) teams in each gender (boys/girls). However, we cannot guarantee that two teams will be formed.
Tryouts for the boys are scheduled at Fisher Middle School for Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 9:00 to 11:00 am (8:30 am check-in), and Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 11:00 to 1:00 pm (10:30 am check-in).
Tryouts for the girls are scheduled at Fisher Middle School for Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 11:00 to 1:00 pm (12:30 pm check-in), and Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 9:00 to 11:00 am (8:30 am check-in).
Each session may be concluded after 1.5 hours. If additional sessions are necessary, you will be notified.
Please check the website for weather-related cancellations.
Players must attend a minimum of one tryout session, although we recommend attending both. It is not possible to schedule a private tryout independent of the above dates.
Selected coaches, as well LGUSL representatives, will be present to evaluate potential players. After the final tryout session is held, evaluations will be combined and the teams selected.
The maximum roster size for U9 is 14 players, although it is possible that fewer will be selected in these tryouts (LGSUL requires that a minimum of 9 players be selected).
Specific information about each of the team's plans will be made available from each of the respective coaches, including the nature and duration of the commitment, expected costs, travel distances, etc., after the selection process. However, these teams plan to charge a training fee between $500 and $750 per player annually in addition to registration fees, tournament fees, uniforms, etc.
Tryout requirements:
1) Complete on-line registration
2) Copy of birth certificate - U9 players have birthdates from August 1, 2003 through July 31, 2004, but younger players are eligible to tryout and "play up" if selected as well.
Once registered, please prepare as follows for the tryout sessions:
1) Arrive between 10-30 minutes prior to the session begins so that each layer can be registered and tryout number assigned (which will be written on arms/thighs so evaluators can easily identify players). This number will be constant through the tryout process. It is also likely that we will take digital photographs of each player beforehand; this helps us match faces to numbers while we are combining evaluations.
2) Wear white shirt, and standard soccer gear: size-4 soccer ball (labeled and properly inflated), shorts (no sweat pants!), socks, shin guards, cleats, etc. Jackets or long-sleeve shirts are ok.
3) Bring Water and/or other sports drink
4) Be conscious of the weather forecast and dress accordingly.
Players will be informed of the results within 10 days of the last tryout date.
Please do not contact coaches or League representatives regarding one or more particular players. If you have questions concerning the process, the League, or the coach, please direct them to one of our competitive directors. Thank you.
