PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
You are invited to participate in a research study titled “Documenting Early Family Experiences as Result of Health Reform”. This study is being conducted by Liz Arjun at the Georgetown University Center for Children and Families to learn more about early family experiences as a result of health care reform and what improvements may be needed.
VOLUNTARY NATURE OF SURVEY
Participation in this study is entirely voluntary at all times. You can choose not to participate at all or to leave the study at any time. Regardless of your decision, there will be no effect on your relationship with the researcher(s) or any other consequences.
You are being asked to take part in this study because you have identified yourself as a parent of a family that may be impacted by health reform.
WHAT WE WILL ASK OF YOU
If you agree to participate, you will be asked to fill out two surveys about your health insurance coverage, your child’s health condition if he or she has one and some biographical information so we know that we have a diverse group of families.
These surveys are online and should take around 10 minutes to complete and we are asking you to fill one out now and another between 6 and 9 months from now.
HOW WE'LL PROTECT YOU AND YOUR CONFIDENTIALITY
All of your responses to this survey will remain anonymous and cannot be linked to you in any way, unless you specifically ask us and authorize us to do so. No identifying information about you will be collected at any point during the study, and your survey will be identified only by your email address. Note that this means that once you submit your completed survey, there will be no way to withdraw your responses from the study because the survey contains no identifying information.
Study data will be kept in digital format(s) in the researcher’s password-protected computer which will be kept in a locked desk drawer. Only the principle investigator will have access to the data.
