Human Rights

This survey is part of my North Carolina Medical Society Leadership College project on women’s health and human rights. It is being sent to all members of the NCMS for whom email addresses are available. The information collected will be used to develop opportunities for physician advocacy. Your responses will be anonymous and confidential. The survey can be completed in about four minutes.
Thank you very much for your help with my Leadership College project!

Human rights are rights inherent to all human beings, whatever our nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, language, or any other status. We are all equally entitled to our human rights without discrimination. These rights are all interrelated, interdependent and indivisible. (Source: United Nations High Commission on Human Rights). Human rights are based on the principle of respect for the individual and the fundamental assumption that each person deserves to be treated with dignity. Whereas nations or specialized groups enjoy specific rights that apply only to them, human rights are the rights to which everyone is entitled, simply because they are alive.
