Thank you for your interest in the participating on a District Level Committee. We currently have parent participation on the following Committees: District Curriculum Council, Junior High/Middle School Committee and Response to Instruction and Intervention. A brief summary of information about each of these committees is listed below.
DISTRICT CURRICULUM COUNCIL

The District Curriculum Council is a standing advisory committee to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. The primary goal of this committee is the ongoing improvement of the district’s educational program. Through review of proposed program changes and proposed committee charges, the Council seeks to:  provide students with rigorous educational programs support the district's mission, goals and priorities, and meet and exceed California state standards.  

All meetings will be held at the District Office from 3:15-5:00 on the following dates: 
September 19,  October 17,  November 14, January 30,  March 12, April 16,  May 14.  
JR HIGH/MIDDLE SCHOOL COMMITTEE

The Jr. High/Middle School Committee is an advisory committee to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction that will review our current grade level configurations.  As requested by the Board of Trustees, this committee will examine the effective elements of Junior High and Middle School Programs including, but not limited to, academics, social-emotional learning, school culture, developmental needs of students, schedules, and facilities.  The committee will then identify the steps necessary for LASD to create effective Middle Schools. Through this process the committee will be able to make a final committee recommendation to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction.

All meetings will be held at the District Office from 3:15-5:00 pm. The first meeting will be held on August 30.
RESPONSE TO INSTRUCTION & INTERVENTION

The RTI2 committee is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Response to Instruction and Intervention Plan for Los Altos School District.  "Response to Instruction and Intervention" is a model of education support that ensures the individual needs of all students are met by providing effective instruction and interventions as necessary.  

All meetings will be held at the District Office from 3:15-5:00. The first meeting will be on September 20.
