Iramoo @ VU (Iramoo Sustainable Community Centre at Victoria University St.Albans Campus, McKechnie Street, St.Albans) acts as a beacon and resource for sustainable living in Melbourne's West, fostering connections between VU, the community and our global partners.
During 2009, Iramoo @ VU partnered with local government and the outer western suburban communities to develop a better understanding for actively living more sustainably. We're very excited to have secured major funding to commence work in 2010, on retrofitting a relocated house, destined to become a model for sustainable living - the Iramoo Eco-Living Centre.
Under a special agreement with Brimbank Council, this community-based eco-hub will occupy the land adjacent to the existing Iramoo Centre, Wildlife Park and Lakes, and the surrounding communities.
We'd really like you to 'Have Your Say' about what you'd like to see at this fabulous new EcoLiving Centre - the building design and layout, the surrounding area, programs, events, facilities, etc. Tell us how you'd like to use the new facilities in conjunction with the existing Iramoo Sustainable Community Centre. Your feedback will assist in advising the Design Concept we're putting together RIGHT NOW for this new community hub of environmentally sustainable living.
