1. TESOL/NCATE Reviewer Application

Thank you for your interest in applying to serve as a TESOL/NCATE reviewer. Before completing this application, please review the following list of qualifications required of all TESOL/NCATE reviewers:

1. Five or more years of experience and expertise in the field of teaching, administration, teacher education, research, and/or program evaluation for English language learners in the United States.

2. Current member of TESOL International Association.

3. Knowledge about interpretation of data, performance-based assessment, use of
rating scales and rubrics, and analysis of written information.

4. Ability to write clearly and concisely.

5. Ability to make reasoned professional judgments about educational programs.

6. Good interpersonal skills, the ability to interact with team members in a courteous and collegial manner, and the ability to work toward consensus in team deliberations.

7. Computer literacy, particularly word processing skills and collaborative web-based technology.

8. E-mail and phone access.

9. Commitment and availability to perform duties for a 3-year term.

10. Ability to meet deadlines.

11. Stamina!

In addition, all reviewers are required to:

1. Attend reviewer training at the full-day training session on 20 March 2013, one day prior to the 2013 TESOL International Convention & English Language Expo in Dallas, Texas, USA.

2. Complete 2 reviews during the fall and/or 2 reviews in the spring of each year.

3. Participate fully in each review.
