Why is it so important that we support our schools?
We had been promised investment for the Grove and Magnus secondary schools and for the Orchard special school. This investment is needed! Those schools have long needed either rebuilding or repairing. Children are having to leave some lessons to place buckets under leaking rooves.
It has been proven that new and improved buildings improve education. Pupils are happier in class. Teachers are better equipped to deliver lessons. Schools can continue to attract good quality teachers. Parents and the community are proud. We want to be proud! We want the best possible schooling and education in Newark.
How can you help?
By signing our petition, you can make a big difference. We are looking to get as many names as possible on the petition so that our pupils can present it to the Secretary of State for Education. There is no secret that we need as many names as possible, and as much publicity as possible. We cannot sit back and wait, we have got to show why Newark should be front of the queue.
If you live in Newark, or even in the District, then our schools will matter to you. You might not have children at school but someone you know will have. If you work, shop or seek entertainment in Newark then you will rely on the Newark economy - which relies on a well educated workforce. Schools are the foundation of our society, today and in the future. Join us.
