Workshop description:

Evidence based design - or the process of basing decisions about the built environment on credible research to achieve the best possible outcomes - has taken deep roots in the healthcare design industry over the last 10 years or so. Inherent in this process, is a focus on basing design decisions on research and also conducting research to evaluate the impact of these decisions. This presentation focuses on the role of research at different stages of the evidence based design process. Examples of research studies conducted by teams engaged in this process are also presented.
