Dear Fellow Research Staff and Researching Academics Everywhere!
Whilst lost on fieldwork in the West Midlands last year, we dreamed of a really useful guide for researchers that would give us REAL and HONEST advice on how to survive research projects; nitty-gritty stuff not text book.
We dreamed of finding amazing new ways to find (and keep!) research participants; of writing better proposals that actually got funding; of tips that helped us feel less isolated or more in tune with our colleagues.
We decided to make this handy little guide a reality so here we are asking for your wisdom, your hindsight, your handy tips for day-to-day survival, your battle stories; your triumphs …
We’d like to make them into a nice pleasant-looking guide and give them back in their entirety to everyone involved in research at Loughborough. Please deposit your thoughts here in as much or little detail as you choose.
We know you are very busy – we certainly are.
Thank you in advance from two intrepid researchers
