Legacy Playground - A Universally Accessible Playground Project by the Leadership Greater Nashua Class of 2012
Legacy Playground. Where everyBODY can play.
The Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Greater Nashua Class of 2012 (LGN 2012) will construct a universally accessible playground in the City of Nashua that will enable all children and their families in the Greater Nashua community (and beyond) to come together in a relaxing, outdoor setting to enjoy the company of others whether able-bodied or disabled. The Universal Design concept ensures that each playground is usable by as many people as possible, including those with disabilities. Handicap accessible structures such as ramps and transfer points are integrated into a more comprehensive design that provides play access to children with the broadest possible range of abilities. The Universal Design also affords access to everyone: including parents, caregivers pushing strollers & wheelchairs, grandparents, toddlers, and people with temporary or permanent disabilities.
The purpose of this survey is to gather information about, and input from, those who may utilize Legacy Playground so that our committee may plan and develop the project. Please take a few moments to answer the following questions, to the best of your ability, so that we may better understand the needs in our community. Responses will be held confidentially within the planning group unless permission is granted otherwise from the survey participant.
