To All our existing members.
Druidic Dawn has been established for five years and in this time we have strived to develop a strong platform for sharing druidic content. Over the five years we have benefited from a growing membership base and more people read the quarterly magazine Aontacht with each edition released. Unfortunately we do not operate in a vacuum and the infrastructure that keeps all this good stuff running requires financial resources. Therefore it is the managements greatest regret to have to monetize the site. ...Somehow!
Also we would like to be in a position to begin all the great conservation projects that are being developed in the background, and making the platform financially self sufficient would act as an enabler to achieve this worthy aim.
We propose that much of the content and community access remains free. Because the existing site has been suggested to be quite techie and difficult to navigate this has meant barriers have been erected preventing some parts of the community accessing all the good stuff. Thus we have decided to recreate a new vision for druidic dawn that we hope will be easier to use and enable more engagement between community members. The vision is to create a beautiful platform that acts as a companion to an individuals spiritual journey and promote the community to support each other on your own path, like a digital journal.
Part of this vision is to enable the site to become a platform for transforming passive activity to promote the benefits of participating in a sharing and encouraging way. After all Druidry is a very experiential activity it would be right to have a site that supports these worthy aims in a safe environment.
Much of the site will remain free and universal, and we propose that this can be achieved by opening up new channels of potential members with a single user facebook or google log in id. For individuals who contribute a small annual subscription we will reward you with free advertising space for your craft, both in the magazine and on the website plus additional functionality for organising your druidic path on line. Priority access to the current magazine and we hope to build added functionality and courses to this area of the site. The next few months will be a period of consultation to the community before any major changes happen and these following questions have been written to gauge your interest and initiate further discussions.
