Registration: Trauma Stewardship Workshop

Registration for CALCASA's Trauma Stewardship Workshop with Laura van Dernoot Lipsky is open for CALCASA Member Rape Crisis Centers and Member Programs. Laura is a long time advocate of trauma survivors. Having been in the field for more than two decades, Laura reached a braking point 10 years ago when she realized that this work had changed her. She had to face the reality that, "the work she cared so much about was taking a toll on her." From this she decided to take a step back and focus on her own healing. Her journeys and experiences ultimately lead to her write "Trauma Stewardship: An Everyday Guide to Caring for Self while Caring for Others." Thus, this training will focus on the effects of exposure to trauma as well as how to care for yourself as you care for others.

Registration for this event is $45 per person. In order to give all Member Programs an opportunity to be represented at this workshop, we are limiting registration to one (1) person per agency . If space permits, we may be able to accommodate more participants at a later time.

**If there are others at your agency who would like to attend, you can email their contact information (include: Name, Agency, Position, Phone Number and Email Address) to cindy@calcasa.org and they will be placed on a wait list. We will contact them directly after January 8, 2010 if space and funds are still available for them to attend.**

There will be providing limited $300 travel stipends for travel costs per participant (1 per agency) on a first-come-first-serve basis. (If funds are available, we may be able to offer more than one travel stipend per agency.) In order to be eligible to receive a travel stipend, you MUST complete the "Travel Stipend" section of this registration by Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 5:00pm.

CALCASA staff will review the travel stipend application you provide to us and we will notify you if you have been approved for a travel stipend, as well as the specific amount awarded, by Friday, January 8, 2010 or with in two (2) business days after you submit your registration and travel stipend information. Any costs exceeding the CALCASA approved travel stipend amount will be the responsibility of you or your agency.

Registration includes: Morning Coffee, Lunch and a copy of the book by Laura van Dernoot Lipsky entitled "Trauma Stewardship: An Everyday Guide to Caring for Self While Caring for Others."
Early registration is encouraged as space is limited. Registrations will NOT be accepted after Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 5:00pm, and no on-site registrations will be accommodated.

No refunds on canceled registrations are allowed, but CALCASA encourages participants to send a substitute for any such registrations. No registrations may be shared.
